Yuzo Matsutsuyu, born on July 25, 1927, passed away peacefully by his side. He was 98 years old.

Yuzo at home on September 13, 2025, with his beloved wife of 71 years lived a life grounded in love, dedication, and family. The great love of his life was his wife, Gene Yaeko (Kanamori) Matsutsuyu, with whom he shared a lifetime of companionship.

A lifelong golfer, Yuzo remained active in the game well into his early 90s, embodying both discipline and joy in everything he pursued. His love for food was unmatched, and his secret stash of snacks was never far. Yet above all interests and accomplishments, his true focus was always family. Together, Gene and Yuzo built a family that was always his greatest source of pride and joy.

Yuzo will be remembered for his quiet strength, sharp humor, devotion to his wife and family, and the love and values he passed on to future generations. He leaves behind a legacy of togetherness, humility, and enduring love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Gene; his children, Keith Matsutsuyu (Laurie)and Stephanie Kato (Jimmy); and his cherished grandchildren, Kevin Kato, Kelli Kato, Scott Matsutsuyu, and Erin Matsutsuyu.
