A Celebration of Life Gathering was held privately for the late Mr. Yutaka "Mike" Mayeda, an 82-year-old Guadalupe, California-born Nisei resident of Los Angeles, former internee of Gila River Relocation Camp during WWII and who served honorably in the United States Air Force. He passed away on December 31, 2014.

Predeceased by his wife of 20 years, Chiyo and his brother and sister-in-law James Hajime (Akemi) Mayeda. Survived by his beloved wife, Helen Ocampo-Mayeda; son, Christian Mikey Mayeda; siblings, Min (Sueme) Mayeda , Roy (May) Mayeda, Jane (Jon) Shaughnessy of Washington. Also survived by many other family members here in California, Virginia and New York.
