November 7, 1920 - July 5, 2015
Born Yuki Maruki in Florin, CA. In 1942 while interned in Rohwer, AR, she met & married Tom Hayakawa. They moved to Chicago, IL where they had two daughters. In 1955 the family returned to Southern California. Yuki was a resident of Rancho Palos Verdes for over 30 years. She passed away peacefully while at rest.
Yuki was the beloved Mother of Karen (Ken) Shintaku & Joyce (Alan) Akashi; Grandmother to Kori, Kelly, Evan & Eric; Great-Grandmother to Zack & Colin.
At her request she was buried at Sea in Palos Verdes. A Celebration of Her Life was held Sunday, August 2, 2015.
The family kindly requests in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Salvation Army or the USC Norris Cancer Center.
