Yoshiko was born on January 23, 1932 in a rural farming and fishing town in Kagoshima, Japan. As the oldest daughter in a large family, from a young age she helped in the family business and in caring for her younger brothers and sisters. In 1960, she immigrated to Southern California with her two young sons to join her husband Kakichi. Later, their youngest daughter was born. Yoshiko was very busy raising three children, learning English, and learning about life in America. In her free time, she was active in Kagoshima Kenjinkai activities, traditional dance, and singing. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and for her warm laughter and sense of humor.
She is predeceased by her parents and her husband Kakichi. She is survived by her three children, Kazuhide, Kazuaki, and Joann, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Private family services was held on Sat. Dec. 28, at Green Hills Chapel
