Yoko Hashima, resident of Los Angeles, was born in Kajiki, Kagoshima, Japan on October 6, 1925 to Kunitomo and Yoshi Mayeda. She was raised in Coronado, Chula Vista, and later in Japan.

At the age of 93, she peacefully passed away in her sleep on February 22, 2019. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Ryo Hashima, she is survived by; daughter, Edie Erumi (Rod) Kubomoto; sons, Mark Ichiro Hashima and Arthur Tetsuro (Sachi) Hashima; grandchildren, Scott and Lisa Kubomoto, Lauren, Kaydi, and Grant Hashima; brother Frank (Kyoko) Mayeda, sisters-in-law, Theresa Mayeda, Etsuko Igarashi, Miyeko Kawata; brothers-in-law, Ryoji Hashima and Ray (Utako) Hashima; also survived by many nephews, nieces, and other relatives.

A Christian service officiated by nephew, pastor Dean Mayeda, and assisted by nephew, pastor Keith Igarashi was held on Saturday, March 9, at Rose Hills Memorial Park.
