Utano Okita, a 98-year-old, Nisei resident of Southern California and former internee of Heart Mountain Relocation Camp during WWII passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the Keiro Retirement Home in Los Angeles, CA. Beloved mother of Alan Okita. Proud grandmother of Kristin, Brandon (Erin) and Nicole Okita. Loving sister of Michiko (George) Muramoto and Fujiye (Tatsuo) Endo. Also survived by many nieces.

Funeral services were held privately, officiated by Rimban William Briones of Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple. The family requests that flowers and koden be omitted.
