Funeral service for Toshiyuki Kawate 88-year-old resident of Gardena who passed away on Oct. 19, 2011, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 27 from 7:00 PM at Gardena Buddhist Church, 1517 W. 166th St., Gardena with Rev. Alan Sakamoto from Orange County Buddhist Church officiating.
He is survived by his sons, Kazuo (Junko) and Glenn Kawate; daughters, Rose (Robert) Nishiyama, Judy (Robert) Karasawa and Junie Kawate; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, Roe (Masako) Kawate of Japan; many nieces, nephews and other relatives here and in Japan.
