Toshiaki "Don" Okumoto, 87, passed away on Sept. 10, 2018 at the Crystal Care Manor board and care home where he resided for the last 5-1/2 years. He had struggled with Alzheimer's Disease for over 8 years.

Don was born in Los Angeles on June 14, 1931. His family moved back to their home in Hiroshima when he was a baby. He returned to Los Angeles in 1950, met Youko, and they got married in 1952.

Predeceased by his wife Youko Okumoto and his brothers Akio Okumoto and Toshio Okumoto.  Survived by his daughters, Mariko Mari Okumoto and Akiko "Aki"  Okumoto, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives here and in Japan.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 23, at 1:30pm at Gardena Buddhist Church,1517 W. 166th St., Gardena CA.
