Thomas Teruo Asahino, age 98 of Laguna Niguel, California, went home to be with the Lord on July 27, 2023 after a brief illness. He was born in Mahukona, Hawaii on September 16, 1924, the second child of six, to parents Naoma and Sekino Asahino. Thomas graduated from Kohala High School in 1944 and served in the U.S. Army after WWII from 1945 to 1947. He owned and operated a successful refrigeration business (Supreme Refrigeration) for many years and was active in their church. He is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years (Betty), who sadly passed in 2012.

Thomas is survived by his daughters Denise Beardshear (Nick), Joyce Noel (Matt) and Joanne Harper (Mark); grandchildren Tim, Kristi, Collette, Becky, Peter, Colin, Adam, Derek, Alyssa, and Nikki; great-grandchildren Violet, Calla, Logan, Max, Scarlett, and Soren. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents is brother Steve Asahino, and sisters Hideko Tanaka, and Matsuko Shimizu. Tom is also survived by sisters Takeko Spaulding and Doris Yoshikane; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Tom will be remembered for his always cheerful attitude full of love and kindness, his faith in God and compassion for people, and his smile. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, August 16th at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, 3800 S. Fairview St., Santa Ana CA 92704.
