Obituary

Teresa (Teri) M. Negley, 96, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024. A recent resident of Los Angeles, she had been a longtime resident of Tucson.

Teri lived a full life. She loved her family and friends, cooking, pets, gardening, plus arts and crafts. Born in Hokkaido, Japan, she met her husband Floyd in Tokyo where he was stationed with the army. After many years as a military family moving between the USA and Japan, they settled in Tucson where Teri worked at the university library.

During the seventies, the Negleys opened Japan Food Mart on the growing east side, successfully selling it a decade later so they could travel (after Floyd's retirement from government service) to Europe and other places.

After her husband passed, Teri moved to Little Tokyo where she could easily walk to markets and Asian restaurants.

She is survived by daughters Teresa K (George) and Carol (Andrew); nephews Haruki and Ken; and great-grandchild Rivers.

Teri wished for her family and friends to remember what she was like before she became ill, and "to reflect upon her passing as a time of personal growth."

A committal ceremony will be held at Grace St Paul's Church. In lieu of

gifts and flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charitable organization.
