A kibei Nisei, born in Kingsburg, California.  Taye passed away in the afternoon on January 17, 2024 in Alhambra, California.  She resided in Southern California for majority of her life as a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Within her lifespan of strength and perseverance, she is predeceased by her husband, Masanori Umeda.  Taye is survived and loved indefinitely by her children; Toshio (Emo), Masaye (Tony), Setsuko, Johnny (Irene), and Bobby; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and relatives.
