Tatsuya "Tats" Kuwahara passed away peacefully at home in Montebello on June 17, 2014. He was 89 years old.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, June, and three children: Gary (Teri) of Torrance, Ron (Ilene) of Lodi and Susan Reeve (Ron) of Torrance. He was the proud grandfather of Dana Kuwahara McCusker (Mike) and Derek Kuwahara, Jeffrey and Stephanie Kuwahara, Maxwell, Garrett and Harrison Reeve. He was predeceased by great-grandson Shane Shimatsu McCusker. Tats is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Tats was the youngest and last surviving of 6 boys in to a family of flower growers and florists. He was the founding owner of Kiku Florist in Gardena and Calvary Flower Shop in East Los Angeles until his retirement in 1990.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Zenshiji Soto Mission, 123 South Hewitt Street, Los Angeles, CA.
