Takeshi Kosakura

Beloved Father, Brother and Grandfather passed away on June 21st, 2013.

Takeshi Kosakura (February 3, 1932 - June 21, 2013)

He was born in Berkeley, CA, but grew up in Los Angeles after his family was sent to the Tanforan Assembly Center in Northern California and then to Topaz, UT during WW2.

He attended and graduated from Belmont High School, and achieved a BPA degree in Industrial Arts from the Art Center College of Design (1957). In 1980 he achieved an MBA degree from Pepperdine University.

He served in the US Army as a Corporal during the Korean War at Fort Gordon Meade, MD.

He worked as an automotive stylist for the Ford Motor Corporation, before getting involved in industrial design.
In 1972 he formed Kosakura and Associates, Inc., which is still in business today.

He was involved with the inception of Orange County Buddhist Church, and served as church board president in 1974.
He and his wife Terry were also involved in philanthropic organizations, and helped in founding Project Kokoro at OCBC. He was also a board member of Grateful Crane Ensemble.

"Tak" passed away due to declining health. He was 81 years old.

He is survived by his son Steven, (his wife Cheryl), daughter, Lori, and son, Mark.
grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, Derek and Talia, and his sister Tamiko Sakimoto.
His memorial will be on Saturday July 13th at 2:00 PM at Orange County Buddhist Church 909 South Dale Avenue, Anaheim, CA 92804 (714) 827-9590
