Private funeral services for the late Mr. Takeji Fred Oshimo, 73 year-old, Whittier California born, resident of Culver City, who passed away on June 27, were held on Monday, July 6, 2009 at Fukui Mortuary " Chapel in the Garden ", officiated by Rimban Hiroshi Abiko of Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.

He is survived by his son, Michael K. (Janice) Oshimo; daughter, Sherry K. (David) Muto of Washington; granddaughter, Chelsea E. Oshimo; grandson, Grant T. Oshimo; brother, George (Atsue) Oshimo; sisters, Masako ( Tadashi) Kubota, Kimiyo Fujii, Mary (Yoneo) Shimomura of Illinois, and Yasuko (Isamu) Yoshimi; Also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
