Takeichi Jack Furutani of North Hollywood, Calfornia, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on June 19, 2014. Born on September 6, 1923, and raised in El Monte, California, he was interned at Heart Mountain, Wyoming in the 1940's. In addition to his beloved wife, Susie Shizuye Furutani, he was predeceased by his brothers, Jiichi and Sadao. He is survived by his loving daughters, Shirley Yuriko ( Kurt ) Masuda and Susan Keiko Furutani; granddaughter Ashley Sayuri Masuda; brothers Shoji and Kazuo. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is remembered as a loving husband and father.

A private funeral service was held on Sat. June 28, at Fukui Chapel with Rimban William Briones & Rev. Chuho Matsubayashi of Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiating.
