Obituary
Taka Shitara
Taka Shitara, 101, a longtime resident of Monterey Park, CA, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Kitagawa and Linda (Rick) Ladd; her grandson, Richard Kitagawa; granddaughters, Toni Kitagawa, Aimee Ladd, and Alyssa Ladd; great-granddaughter, Sydney Elser; great-grandsons, William Elser and Todd Kitagawa; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Chapel, 222 S. Hewitt St., Los Angeles, CA 90012.
Ash burial will follow at 12:00 PM at Calvary Cemetery, 4201 Whittier Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90023.
