Tadashi Ota passed away peacefully on April 24, 2022 at an assisted living facility in Torrance, CA at the age of 92 where he brought smiles & laughter to the caregivers & residents who knew him.

Tadashi or "Tad" as he was known to most, was born on May 3,1929 in Los Angeles, CA. He attended Maryknoll School, was interned at Manzanar & graduated from Roosevelt High School.

Tad was always kind, generous, pleasant & humorous. He had many lifelong friends & always had a love for music. Tad married Ruth Nakada in 1950, was inducted into the army during the Korean War & soon after became father to daughter Sandi & later son Ron. Tad was a loving husband, father & good friend to many. Life was good…

Tad's career as an electronics engineer supported the family for many decades & during his free time, he would listen to jazz & "Big Band" music! He played steel guitar & ukulele as a young adult & later in life, took adult education classes to learn keyboard & drums! He will be dearly missed by so many who had the pleasure of his company…

He is predeceased by his wife Ruth & son Ron. Tad is survived by his daughter Sandi (Norman) Mochinaga, grandchildren Dena (Sean) Satterfield, Scott (Jayme) & Brent Mochinaga, great grandchildren Nanea & Kaimana Satterfield , Amaya & Emi Mochinaga, many family members & friends.

Due to continuing Covid uncertainties, no service will be held. The family requests no koden or gifts but hopes you will always remember Tad in your heart with a smile & a laugh… Tad's ashes will be taken to Honolulu, where his immediate family will honor & pay tribute to his life!
