Funeral services for Sumio "Sam" Maeda, 82 year old, Haleiwa, Hawaii born resident of Los Angeles, who passed away peacefully on May 25, 2013, will be held on Saturday, June 8th, 2013, 11:00am at the West Los Angeles United Methodist Church, 1913 Purdue Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90025, officiated by Rev. Gary Oba.



Mr. Maeda was predeceased by his beloved wife Elsie Fumiko Maeda. He is survived by his sons, Deron R. Maeda of Hawaii, and Bart T. (Kirsten) Maeda; granddaughters, Karissa I., Kortney E., and Karolyn R. Maeda; siblings, Jane Oba, Fumio Maeda, Toshio (Margaret) Maeda, Yoshio Maeda, Jennifer Kawamata, all of Hawaii. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other family members here and in Hawaii.



The family requests aloha attire for the service. Since a Memorial service and final interment will be held at Mililani Memorial Park, 94-560 Kamehameha HWY, Waipio, Oahu, HI in July, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made instead to West Los Angeles United Methodist Church (310) 478-7008.
