KANESHIRO, Steven Shigetoshi was born on August 20, 1923 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He died peacefully, at home in Carson, California, on March 20, 2014 at the age of 90 surrounded by his loving family. Steven was a 442nd Veteran (Cannon Company) who served in the European Theater. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

Steven was predeceased by his wife Florence Harue. He is survived by daughters Gail and Mona Kaneshiro and Bernelie (Al) Chong; grandsons Jeffery (Justine) Yamahata and Brian Kishaba; brother Shigemitsu (Jean) Kaneshiro; and sisters, Clara Ishihara, Thelma Wong and Frances (Stanley) Tengan. Steven is also survived by his niece Nancy (Tom) Matsumoto and many other nieces, nephews and relatives.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, 11:00 AM at Gardena Valley Baptist Church, 1630 W. 158th St., Gardena. Aloha/casual attire.
