Private funeral services for the late Stephen Yukio Osako, 79 year-old Long Beach, CA-born Nisei were held at Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple on April 17th, officiated by Rinban Noriaki Ito. Steve passed away on April 5th at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach after a long and courageous battle with multiple myeloma.


Steve is survived by brother Ted (Kimiko) Osako, brothers-in-law Hiroshi Nakagawa, Tedd Kawata, and Frank Kihm. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives here and in Japan.


A Celebration of Life event for Steve will be held on Saturday, May 23rd in Orange County. Relatives, friends, co-workers, and classmates are cordially invited to attend to renew friendships and reminisce about their memories of Steve.
