A funeral service for the late, Stanley Masao Takemoto, a 96-year-old, Hamakuapoko, Maui born Nisei resident of Torrance who passed away on September 14th was held privately on September 18th at Fukui Mortuary, "Chapel in the Garden", officiated by Rimban Hiroshi Abiko of Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.

He faithfully served his country as a member of the 100th-442nd Co. L, and was injured during the rescue of the Lost Battalion of Texas.

Mr. Takemoto was predeceased by his beloved wife, Shizuno Takemoto. He is survived by his children; Mitzi (Michael) Mitsunaga; James (Teri) Takemoto; grandchildren Taryn, Chad, and Austin Mitsunaga; Evan Takemoto; along with many other relatives.
