Private family funeral service for Shoji Shimizu, 85-year-old Yokohama, Kanagawa-ken born resident of Monterey Park who passed away on Feb. 20, 2017 at his residence, was held on Sat. March 4 at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel in the Garden" with the minister from Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiating.

He is survived by his wife, Nobuko Shimizu; son, James Takaji Shimizu; and other relatives.
