Mr. Shiro "Duke" Nakamura, an 89-year-old, El Centro, California-born Nisei resident of Carson and former internee of Poston Relocation Camp during WWII who honorably served in the United States Army peacefully passed away on August 20, 2015.

Duke is survived by his beloved wife, Hatsumi; children, Janet (Dan) Gallatin, Gail (Chris) Meagher, and Bruce Nakamura; grandchildren, Thomas (Sabina)Gallatin and Amy (Victor) Camero; great-grand-daughter, Hana Camero; siblings, Yoshi Okuma, Cherry Hide, Sanami Nakamura and Massaharu Nakamura. Also survived by many other relatives.

Funeral Services were held privately officiated by Rev. Nobuo Miyaji of Gardena Buddhist Church.
