Private funeral services for the late Mr. Shinsuke "Sam" Fukazawa, a Tokyo, Japan-born resident of La Palma who passed away on April 18, 2012 were held at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel in the Garden" 707 E. Temple St., Los Angeles, CA 90012, officiated by Rev. William Briones of Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.

Shisuke is survived by his beloved wife, Fumiko; children, Micah, James and Keisuke Fukazawa; stepchildren, Hidetaka, Teruyuki and Marie Ueno; grandchild, Iam Kim; mother, Miya Fukazawa. Also survived by many other relatives.

Shinsuke was a complicated, interesting and funny man. He could be stern, jovial, quirky, stubborn and compassionate. He grew up with little money and worked hard to attend Keio University in Japan where he graduated with a Law Degree in 1972. After entering the Kawasho company and working around Tokyo for years he was transferred to Houston, TX where he met his first wife. Later, he moved to California where he began work at Vest Inc., where he would become the Chief Financial Officer, Vice President and General Manager. He met his second wife in Gardena and they raised a family together in La Palma, CA. He will be sorely missed.
