Ozawa
August 21, 1914 – November 20, 2017
On November 20, 2017, Shigeko Elizabeth Ozawa passed away peacefully surrounded by family. She was 103 years young. Elizabeth was born in Lordsburg (later changed to LaVerne). She married Hayato Harris Ozawa and they made their home in Pasadena. During the war, the family was interned in Gila, Arizona, after which the family was able to return to Pasadena. Elizabeth and Harris raised three children, Patricia, Kenneth and Michael. They were long time members and supporters of Pasadena Union Presbyterian Church, and later First Presbyterian Church of Altadena. Elizabeth had a passion for raising Orchids complete with a hot house in the back yard. She also was a wonderful cook and baker, always making sure there were treats when the grandchildren were visiting. She was a passionate reader and a puzzle enthusiast.
Elizabeth is predeceased by her husband Harris, son, Michael, son-in-law LeRoy Lindsey, sisters Mary Doi and Yoshiko Niisato. She is survived by her children Patricia, Kenneth, daughter-in-law Charlene, grandchildren, David, Jaime, Marin, Chelsea, Kenji and Koji, her sister Frances Kuramoto and many nieces and nephews.
A private burial was held.
