Funeral services for the late Seizen Sam Matayoshi, 84-year-old Hynes, Calif.-born Nisei and resident of Gardena who passed away on December 30 at his residence, will be held on Friday, January 6, 4:30 p.m. at Fukui Mortuary Chapel, 707 E. Temple St., L.A., with Rev. Paul Nakamura officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Yemiko Matayoshi; sons, Brian (Marylyn), Stanley (Cynthia) and Kevin Matayoshi; grandchildren, Kelli, Jeff and Eric Matayoshi; brothers, Dave (Natalie) and John Matayoshi; sisters, Chiyo Matayoshi of New York, Toyo Miyashiro and Pat Ige; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
