A private graveside service , officiated by Rinban Noriaki Ito of Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple, was held on January 29 at Rose Hills Memorial Park for long-time Los Angeles resident, Satsuko Hattori, who passed away peacefully late in the evening of January 9, at Kei-Ai South Bay Healthcare Center, at the age of 105. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Takahiro; brothers Yoshio, Chitose, Akio, Satoru, Tome and Ren Kitaguchi; and grandson Christopher Takaragawa. She is survived by her loving children Nancy, Emerly Gueron, Floyd, Irene (Ronald) Takaragawa; grandchildren John (Michelle) Gueron, Gea De La Riva, Dr. Stephanie (Dr. Steven Gjerstad) Takaragawa, Laura (Scott Brown) Takaragawa; and great-grandchildren Jet, Mika and Adjani. She is also survived by many relatives in the United States and in Japan.
She was a long-time Dodger fan, liked to do Sudoku puzzles, and was a great cook. She was the heart of our family and will be dearly missed.
