Obituary

Sandra Sanae Torigoe, also known as Sandy to her friends, was born on July 20th, 1951 in Honolulu, Hawaii to father Charles Masumi Torigoe and mother Haruko Torigoe. After the birth of sister Sharon, the family later moved to Los Angeles, California where she attended Lockwood Elementary School, Thomas Starr King Junior High, John Marshall High School and Los Angeles City College.

After graduating from LACC in 1971, she briefly moved back to Hawaii, but ultimately ended up moving back to Los Angeles. Sandra found work at Los Angeles Unified School District where she retired in July of 2009, as a Hearing Secretary. Even after retirement, she would still return to work part time, working there a total of almost 30 years.

When she wasn't working, Sandra enjoyed driving with family and friends almost monthly to Las Vegas to eat, shop and of course gamble. She could usually be found playing video poker or slots at the California Hotel and Casino. Other hobbies included Bunka embroidery, word fill in puzzles, reading, playing games on her iPad and baking. Sandra was always feeding her friends, the school police and Board Members' offices at LAUSD.

Sandra passed away at the early age of 67, on the morning of November 24th, 2018. She was always thinking of others before herself and caring for all. Her relationships with family and friends were always the most important.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15, 11:00 A.M. at Fukui Mortuary " Chapel In The Garden" 707 East Temple St. Los Angeles, CA 90012 with Rev. Koho Takata of Los Angeles Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiating.
