Sally Sayono Tsuneishi passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016. She was born on November 21, 1925 in Kohala, Hawaii to Kamekichi & Toka Kirita. During World War 2, her family was moved to the Jerome Relocation Camp in Arkansas and later to Gila Relocation Center in Arizona. After the war, she returned to Honolulu and worked at as a nurse's aide at Kapiolani Hospital for a year before heading to Los Angeles to further her education. She attended Evergreen Baptist Church where she met and later married Rev. Arthur Makoto Tsuneishi. Rev. Arthur's ministry would lead them to Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Hawaii, San Diego, San Lorenzo and eventually San Gabriel area churches. Arthur passed away after 61 years of marriage in 2010. She is survived by 3 sons, Jonathan, Mark (DeeAnn), Chris (Janice); 5 daughters, Koko (Rod) Yee, Gail (Fred) Wagner, Lani (John) Fredrick, Carol, and Julie (Wyatt) Loo; 14 grandchildren, Erin, Josh, Ruth, Nathan, Annie, Kyle, Timothy, Emma, Lauren, Jordan, Ethan, Ryan, Brendan and Makena; brother Ralph (Shirley); sisters, Marian, Pat, Esther (George). Frances Tsuneishi (Sister-In-law), Noel, Yoshi (Fumi) Tsuneishi (Brothers-in-law) Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A "Celebration of Life" memorial service will be held on Friday, October 7th, 10:30 a.m. at South Bay Community Church, 2549 W. 190th Street, Torrance, CA officiated by Pastor Seigo Takayoshi of Los Angeles Holiness Church. The Tsuneishi Family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in her name to: OMS Holiness Church of North America or JEMS (Japanese Evangelical Missionary Society).
