Sachiko K. Watanabe, known to friends and family as "Karen" passed away on December 19, 2018, at the age of 86. Born in Lahaina, Hawaii, Karen was a long-time resident of Gardena, California.Karen will be lovingly remembered by her husband Donald Watanabe, son, Wayne (Patrice) Watanabe with children Reid, Janine and Katie. Her daughter, Susan (Robert) Nakashiba with children Christine, Russell, and Lindsay with one great-grandchild Maddie Nakashiba. She is survived by her sisters Momoyo Tada, Yaeko (Ted) Kawamura and Clare (Frank) Kihara.

At the request of the family, a private service was held on December 28th at Fukui Mortuary Chapel, Los Angeles, California, with Rimban William Briones of Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiating. The family has requested no koden.
