Obituary
Ryoji Akiyama, 84, passed away on October 3, 2015 at his home in Monterey Park.
Ryoji was born on April 1, 1931, in Niigata, Japan, and moved to California in 1971, and was a lifelong resident of Monterey Park.
He is survived by his loving wife, Yoko; two daughters Yayoi Christiansen and Megumi Lemons; two sons-in-law Kevin Christiansen and Stephen Lemons; two grandchildren Jason and Mika Christiansen; he is also survived by niece, nephew, and other relatives in Japan.
A private funeral service was held at Fukui Mortuary on October 11, at 12:30 p.m., officiated by Rinban Noriaki Ito of the Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple.
