Public viewing with a public vigil to follow for MICHIKO RUTH SAKAKI GILBERT, 81, a Los Angeles born Nisei and resident of Los Angeles who passed away on January 4, will be held at 11AM, Wednesday, January 10 at Fukui Mortuary Chapel, 707 E Temple St., L.A., with Brother Phil Mandile officiating.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your favorite children's organization.



Michiko a devoted mother is survived by her children, Susan Iijima, Chris N. Iijima, and Diana Momiye (Robert) Mueller of San Francisco; grandchildren, David Joseph Nevarez, Elizabeth A. Iijima, Torrance B. (Marla) Thurman, Rachael (Patrick) Heinonen, Josef Sakaki Mueller, Alex Tadashi Mueller, Kevin Hiroshi Mueller and Sean Isao Mueller; great grandchildren, Jewel Elizabeth Iijima-Steagald, Kaileijh Chretien, Sabrina Aliyah Iijima-Steagald, Connor Heinonen and Miya Iijima-Chretien; brother, Wallace (Fran) Sakaki; daughter-in-law, Betty Ann (Bob) Rankin also survived by many nephews and nieces.
