Ruby Nishio

January 31, 1927 – October 9, 2025

Ruby Nishio, 98, passed away peacefully at Ivy Park of San Marino in San Gabriel, CA. She was a long-time resident of Los Angeles until moving to Altadena in 2020. Ruby was a master quiltmaker, seamstress and tailor who loved gardening, cooking and the Dodgers!

Ruby is predeceased by her husband, Isamu Nishio and sisters Alice Yamashita (Hige) and Helen Kitamura (Eddie). She is survived by her children: JoAnne (Roy Digino), Linda (Ransom Rideout), Susan (Stephen Ball), Dennis (Lisa Higashi); grandchildren Alison and Tyler; great grandchildren Violet and Olivia; brother Fred (Sadie) and many nieces and nephews.

A private service was held at Forest Lawn Cemetary.
