IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roy Yutaka
Harada
April 24, 1948 – March 18, 2024
Roy was a loving husband whose sense of humor and calming ways were cherished blessings. He was his wife's steadfast partner and often called her Kiddo. His trust and generosity extended to his circle of dear friends. Trust was important. Once broken, he could be unforgiving. He was a simple man with his love of t-shirts and cargo shorts, peanuts, prime rib, TV, and John Wayne westerns. As a "creature of habit'" he could be so predictable – washing and waxing the cars to keep them clean and shiny, his afternoon walks around the neighborhood, having his morning iced coffee with a "must have" snack, his twice a year trips to downtown Las Vegas to "donate his funds" to the penny slots – all so Roy. His friends knew his familiar phrases such as that's life, what a bozo, aw geez, it's good. He lit up when he told stories of his days in the grocery and trucking businesses. They came up frequently in conversations and the excitement in his voice brought his stories to life. Traveling was another love as his bucket list shrank with trips to Japan, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland. A trip he consistently made with his wife Faith was to the Big Island of Hawaii because that prime rib buffet at the Waikoloa Marriot was always waiting for him. Roy was a beloved treasure and his spirit will live on in everyone he touched. He will be dearly missed. Faith is grateful for his relatives and friends who filled his life with love, laughter, and contentment. Their overwhelming kindness and support are giving her much needed strength during this difficult time.
