Roy Akira Takeda passed away peacefully at his home on Oct. 31 with family and caregivers at his side. Eldest of three sons, he is predeceased by brother, Isamu and parents, Shichizo and Tama Takeda. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; daughter, Patricia Ann Takeda, MD; son, Dean Takeda; brother, Teruaki (Amy) Takeda, DDS. Also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives. Roy's education was fulfilled in both US and in Japan. He enjoyed a full life, especially during his senior years assisting his brother-in-law, George Kanegai of West L.A. Travel with organizing group tours where he got to travel to various parts of the world. He loved sports, especially the N.Y. Yankees. Private Memorial Service was held on Sat. Nov. 13, 2010. at West Los Angeles United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Gary Oba.
