Ronald “Ronnie” DiLaura, a Huntington Beach resident since 1969, passed away at his home in July at the age of 79. Born in Niagara Falls, New York, Ronnie grew up in West Los Angeles.
During his career, Ronnie worked for Boeing, SARA, Northrop Grumman Corporation, and McDonald Douglas. Outside of work, he had a lifelong passion for cars and in later years, enjoyed building and showing his prized Cobra. He was also an accomplished photographer and an avid gardener.
Ronnie enjoyed life “his way" with a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh and smile.
Ronnie is survived by his life partner Georgiana Yoshioka; his brother, Dennis DiLaura; his daughter, Gina Roberson; and his granddaughters, Angela and Juliana.
For those who knew Ronnie, or simply want to remember him, visit Huntington Beach Central Park near the Shipley Nature Center entrance, have a seat on Ronnie’s park bench, and say hello.
