Memorial Services for the Late Mr. Rodney Isamu Kamiya, a 95 year-old Hawaii-born Nisei resident of Gardena and a proud veteran who honorably served his country in the United States Army, and who also served as the State Service Officer At Large of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1961, who peacefully passed away on May 28, 2014 will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014, 3:00 PM at the Japanese Cultural Institute, 1964 W. 162nd St., Gardena, CA 90247, officiated by Rev. Paul Nakamura of Lutheran Oriental Church. The family respectfully requests aloha/casual attire for the service and that flowers be omitted.

Mr. Kamiya was predeceased by his beloved wife, Nora M. Kamiya, and his siblings, Masako Ono, Nora Toma, and Sam Kamiya.

He was the loving and devoted father of Kathy, Bruce, and Rachael Kamiya; siblings, Mitzi Lorimer and Dick Kamiya. Also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives both here and in Hawaii.
