IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Minoru
Maeda
June 3, 1940 – June 18, 2017
Private graveside service for the late Robert Minoru Maeda, 77-year-old Honolulu-born resident of Gardena, who passed away on June 18, 2017, was held on July 18 at Green Hills Memorial Park with Rimban William Briones from Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiating.
Bob loved cars and spent nearly his entire career in the automotive industry. He traveled extensively in the Pacific Rim and throughout the U.S. during his nearly 20-year tenure as a Sales Manager for General Motors. He ended his career as an entrepreneur and proud owner of a humble auto body shop in Bakersfield, CA – Aloha Collision Parts.
More than he loved cars, he loved his family. All three daughters agree he was the worst joke teller, but the best, most loving, funny and adventurous dad. His thirst for life lives on in them.
Bob is preceded in death by sisters, Lynette Chung and Eleanor Hazama both of HI.
He is survived by his loving wife Yoko Maeda; daughters, Dani Maeda, Darcy (Joshua) Manning of FL, and Erika Maeda of WA; grandchild, Kibo Manning of FL; sisters, Sharon (Roy) Yonamine and Patricia Maeda-Gibo both of HI; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
