Funeral services for the late Mr. Richard K. Sakai, an 84-year-old, Stockton, California-born Nisei resident of Culver City, former internee of Poston Relocation Camp and a proud veteran of the U.S. Army who passed away on November 12, 2011 will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011, 10:00 AM at Venice Santa Monica Free Methodist Church, 4871 Centinela Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90066, officiated by Pastor James Miyabe. Additional parking will be available at the Venice Japanese Community Center, 12448 Braddock Dr., Los Angeles, CA 90066. The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted.



Mr. Sakai is survived by his wife, Cheri Sakai; children, Richard K. Sakai Jr., Daniel Sakai and Sheril Sakai; grand-daughter, Samantha Kaye Sakai; sister, Jane Price. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
