MR. RICHARD KAKU, 93, Los Angeles CA, born Nisei resident of San Gabriel, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 15, 2015.
He is survived by his loving family: daughter, Pat (Larry) Naritomi; grandsons, Eric (Reiko) Naritomi of Singapore and Brent (Lisa) Naritomi of San Diego; great grandchildren, Reid, Macey, Sakurako and Momoko Naritomi; brother, Chuck Kaku and sister, Sachi Kaku.
Celebration of life gathering will be held on Thursday, July 2, at 12:00PM to 2:00pm at Golden Skewer Restaurant, 2212 W. Beverly Bl., Montebello (323) 727-2952.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation, in the name of Richard Kaku, to Budokan of Los Angeles, a building project of Little Tokyo Service Center, 231 E. 3rd St., Suite G106, Los Angeles, CA, 90013 (213) 473-3030. The building project will house a basketball court, which was a sport that he excelled in at the high school level; and as an adult, a sport that he helped develop and supported in the Japanese American community.
