February 9, 1925 – January 5, 2011
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California; interned at Heart Mountain, Wyoming during WWII; an elementary school teacher and administrator for 28 years in Boyle Heights; and a long-time, active member of the Maryknoll Japanese Catholic Center. Widow of Shigeru Kasama to whom she was married for 35 years until his passing in 1995. Survived by two brothers, two sons, and four grandchildren.
Memorial service to be held at St. Francis Xavier Chapel (Maryknoll) located at 222 S. Hewitt Street, Los Angeles on Friday, January 14, 2011 at 1:30 PM. Burial service will be private and held at a later date. In lieu of monetary gifts (koden) or flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation.
