UYEHARA, Paul Takeshi

June 9, 1927 – January 6, 2012

Paul Takeshi Uyehara passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the age of 84. He was born in Seattle, Washington and after internment in the Manzanar and Minidoka Relocation Centers, served in the US Army during WW II and the Korean War.

He was predeceased by his parents, Haruji and Yone Suzuki Uyehara, brother, Harutoshi Henry Uyehara and his beloved wife Elizabeth Maltbie Uyehara. Paul is survived by his sister, Florence Mizumoto (Robert) and her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, JoAnne Bellante (Jay), Christopher Meredith (Tina), Megan Meredith, John Meredith, Lea Mizumoto (Marc Ledergerber), Trevor Ledergerber, Tracy Ledergerber, Peggy Mizumoto, Michael Mizumoto, Timothy Mizumoto, Claire Mizumoto (David Brown), Nicholas Brown and Kathleen Brown; sister-in-law, June Maltbie, and June's children and grandchildren, Linda Maltbie (Charles Curtiss), Brandon Nathaniel and Charles Alexander Maltbie, Elizabeth Maltbie Proctor (Justin), Christian DeWain Proctor, Gwendolyn Kelley Proctor and Katherine Elizabeth Proctor, Susan Maltbie, Charles MacLain Fink, Evan Hopkins Fink, William Walter Fink.

Paul created art in California studios for over 40 years. His art continues to be shown in the US as well as Europe.

The pubic viewing will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 17 from 6 PM to 8:00 PM at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel In The Garden", 707 E. Temple St., Los Angeles. Private funeral service at Riverside National Cemetery.
