Patsy Okano was born in Los Angeles, California on October 11th 1955. Her parents were Ozalene Collins and Mattie Louise Collins originally from Emory, Texas who moved to Venice, California in 1954 to seek a better life. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior at the age of 8 years old and joined the First Baptist Church of Venice at that same age.
Patsy attended Broadway Elementary School, Mark Twain Jr. High School and graduated early from Venice High School in 1972 due to her superior academics. She graduated from Santa Monica College and later attended Cal State Dominguez Hills.
She and her husband have been members of Knox Presbyterian Church for over 30 years. Patsy started her career working at the Broadway Department Store in Westchester, California as a department manager and later transferred to Human Resources.
She worked for Macys Inc as a Human Resources manager where she presided over several stores until 1996 when she started working for the Los Angeles County Community Development Authority as an Employee Relations Officer and retired in 2016.
Patsy was an avid Dodger fan for many years. She never missed one televised Dodger game and loved Dodger player, Cody Bellinger. She enjoyed going to concerts, spending quality time with her wonderful mother and enjoying retirement as she pleased with her husband, Ernie and daughter Marisa.
She is survived by one daughter, Marisa Okano, husband, Ernie Okano, mother, Mattie Louise Collins. sisters-in-law, Florence and Michi Okano, 2 aunts, 3 uncles and a host of cousins and friends.
