Bryan Keith Ono was born on September 1, 1956 in San Francisco and passed away on August 10, 2022 in Pacific Palisades, California. He was predeceased by his parents, Dan and Misako 'Mickey" Ono, a sister Diane and a half-brother Dan Jr. Bryan leaves behind his brother, Rickey, and numerous relatives and friends.
Bryan graduated from UCLA with a degree in mechanical engineering and spent most of his life in Southern California. After college, he worked at various companies in Product Management positions, but it wasn't until he landed a job at Mattel where his career intersected with his personal passions and interests. From an early age, Bryan loved toys, clowns, Disneyland, Star Trek, Star Wars, and magic. As co-owner of EFX Collectibles, he was fortunate to have the opportunity to make a livelihood around Star Trek and Star Wars collectibles, among other franchises. Bryan was also a lifelong member of the Magic Castle.
Bryan had numerous interests, including electronics, Japanese artifacts, photography, and cars. He was also an avid dog lover and had at least 8 in his adult life.
A memorial service is scheduled on September 17 th , 5:00pm, at Fukui Mortuary (707 E. Temple Street, Los Angeles), followed by a reception at the Japanese American National Museum. Both are located in the Little Tokyo area.
