Private funeral services for the late Nui Nakao Hirata, 98-year-old, CA born resident of Monterey Park, who passed away on January 7, 2010, were held on Friday, January 15, at Fukui Mortuary "Chapel in the Garden".
She is survived by her children, Joanne Onaga, Toshiko (Edward) Abbott, Marie (Samuel) Gruber, Ray and Rumiko Nancy Hirata; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack (Naoko) and Jimi (Hisako) Nakao; sisters, Mary Nakamura and Kazue Kawabata; sister-in-law, Chizuko Nakao; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
