Norihiko Takatani, the longtime pro-prietor of Anzen Hardware, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024. He was 86 years old, nori-san was born on June 27, 1938, and immigrated to the United States in 1954. His almost 70-year career at Anzen Hardware firmly established him as a fixture of the Little Tokyo landscape.

Nori-san is survived by his wife, Darlene Eiko; his five children, Christine (Rich), Rick (Candice), Lori (Trent), Dina (Kirk), and Ryan (cindy); as well as nine grandchildren. A public viewing was held at FUKUI Mortuary on Saturday December 15. Private memorial service was held at FUKUI Mortuary on Saturday December 20, Rimban William Briones of Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiating.
