Funeral services for the late Nellie Narie Mitani aka Narie Nellie Okazaki, 105 years old, Arizona born resident of South Pasadena, California, who passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025, at her residence, will be held on Monday, January 27 at 11:00 AM at Centenary United Methodist Church, 300 S. Central Ave., Los Angeles.

Pre-deceased by husband, Masatane Mitani, with whom she founded the Mitani Translation Service in 1961 in Los Angeles.

She is survived by her loving family: son, Yuji (Katherine) Mitani; daughters, Miyo (Russell) Ukita and Frances (Dick – pre-deceased) Shinozaki; grandchildren Courtney (Michelle) Ukita, Colleen (Eric – pre-deceased) Tashima, Alyson (Dennis) Ryan, Traci (Robert) Kato, Dionne (Chihaya) Kamizono, Andrew Shinozaki, Sally Shinozaki, and Ray (Yumi) Shinozaki; 4 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
