A private graveside funeral service was held for the late Moriyoshi Yamanaka, 94-years old, on March 27 at Green Hills Memorial Park.  He passed away peacefully at his home in Torrance on March 13.  The memorial service was officiated by Rev. Eiji Osato of Gardena Valley Baptist Church where he was a member for over 50 years.

Born in Kochi Ken Japan, he moved to the United States in 1957 and raised his family in the South Bay. He is survived by his wife Utako; daughters Jean (Roy) Kondo and Sally (Dennis) Mori; grandchildren Michael (Grace) and Robert (Jennifer) Kondo; Brian and Lauren Mori; great-grandchildren Abigail, Kirsten and Elise Kondo; brothers Masao (Masako) and Setsuo (Hisako) Yamanaka; sister Masuko (Seiro) Mibu of Japan; sisters-in-law Sachiko and Mikako Yamanaka, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives  in California and Japan.  He is predeceased by his brothers Nobuo and Masayuki Yamanaka.
