Obituary

Momoyo "Mo" Patricia Fujiu, 98, a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2024, in Sun Valley, California.

Mo was born on August 2, 1925, in Utah to Hisa and Tokutaro Mizuno. She grew up alongside her five siblings.

In 1945, Mo married Fred and together they raised Candice. They were loving parents and grandparents and cherished time spent with both their daughter and grandchildren.

Mo had a passion for mahjong, painting, country line dancing, sewing, and cooking. She was actively involved in San Fernando Valley's Japanese American Community Center. She will be remembered for her cooking by coordinating family dinner nights every Sunday, supporting her family with love and compassion, and for her kindness and beauty. Mo's character and resilience during an incredible generation will be remembered in all our hearts.

She is survived by her daughter, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and four siblings.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son-in-law, parents, and two siblings.

A funeral service will be held privately to honor her life.
