A family graveside service for the late Mitoji "Mits" Yamashita,
87 year-old, Waimea, Kauai born resident of Torrance who passed
away on April 28 at Torrance Memorial Medical Center, was held on Saturday, May 5 at Evergreen Cemetery, Los Angeles with Pastor John Katagi of JEMS officiating.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mieko "Michi" Yamashita; son, Daniel Yamashita; daughters, Terry (Dennis) Furuyama of HI, and Karen (Mark) Goles of CA; grandchildren, Heather (Tony) Park,
Michelle Yamashita, both of CA, Jennifer Furuyama of Japan, Sharyn Furuyama of FL and Alycia Goles of CA; sister, Sanae (Bill) Morita of HI; also many nieces, nephew and other relatives here and in Hawaii.
